Rams run at Roland-Story

The Greene County high school cross country team had two meets scheduled last week. The Rams ran Thursday at the Roland-Story Norseman Invitational but the meet on Monday at West Marshall was cancelled due to inclement weather / course conditions.  

“We have some illness going through the boys team so we only ran five boys,” said coach Jeff Lamoureux. Only one girl, Olivia Shannon, competed, placing 36th  with a time of 24:27. 

The Rams placed eighth out of 11 teams in the competition with 180 points. Ogden won the meet with a 64 followed by Nevada 76. 

Jayden Carstensen and Gavyn Winters paced the GC team. Placings and times were Jayden Carstensen, 23rd, 19:21; Winters, 27th, 19:30; Jax Carstensen, 35th, 20:12; Kolby Angell 37th, 20:14; and Aidyn Winters, 58th, 22:33.

Michael Pottebaum of Kuemper Catholic won the race in 16:56 followed by Ethan Loutzenheiser of Madrid in 17:00.

Girls team results: Roland-Story 29; Bondurant-Farrar 78; South Hamilton 104; Kuemper Catholic 112; Ogden 125; Nevada 128; Madrid 160; Saydel 183. No team score: Greene County, Panorama, Southeast Valley. 

The Rams will compete in the Perry Invitational on Thursday.
